Being ahead of where I wanted to be with my coding this week, I took the time to start playing around with the user interface and started laying out a template. The boring graphics that are on there now are not what I want to use in the final product. What I currently have on the user interface are just placeholder graphics. These help me visualize the layout of the UI as well as help me think about how the code is going to interact with these elements. I am not super familiar with the UI patching yet so I will probably hold of going into to much detail about it right now.

What I really want to get into is the game graphics themselves. Though I am capable of doing pixel art, I can be a really tedious and long process especially having to do a piece for forward facing and backward facing entities. Also the isometric view has a tendency to mess with me a little bit. While I was looking for different programs that might make the process a bit easier I came across Magica Voxel. Magica Voxel really isnt a pixel art editor but working with 3-D models makes the process of getting assets built quite a bit faster for me, also it is a free to use software. After the models are built the program can export directly to an Isometric view. The Image still A little big to be brought directly into the fox editor so I resize the images with Clip Studio. Although I am sure any photo manipulation software would work for that. I am going to be doing all the rest of my art in Magica voxel from here on out. Another thing that I like about these assets is that if I ever decide to port this game to another platform I will have art assets of decent quality to work with.

I appologize if this isn't the most thought out article that I have written so far. I have a pretty annoying cold that is making my head a bit fuzzy. I will try to write a full tutorial on how I use Magica Voxel to create art assets for Furcadia as soon as I can manage.
